My Story…
I began experiencing Cluster Headaches (CH) around age 13, but like many sufferers, I went nearly 10 years without a diagnosis. During that time I was told they were “just migraines,” while I endured cycles lasting 6–8 weeks where attacks could last from 30 minutes to 3 hours. The pain is often described as one of the most intense conditions a person can experience. Cluster headaches come in two forms: episodic, which I have and occurs in cycles, and chronic, where sufferers face attacks year-round with little relief. After years of searching for answers, my dad helped me connect with Dr. Heather McCoy, who finally diagnosed my condition and helped me begin managing it. My wife Emilee has also been an incredible source of support through every cycle. There is no cure for cluster headaches, which is why I’m running this 5K to raise awareness and support research for everyone living with this condition. Even $1 in support helps make a difference. Thank you.
